    The James S. Bosco papers were gifted to the Department of Special Collections & University Archives from James Bosco in 2003. Additions arrived in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, & 2010.

    Biographical/Historical note

    James Salvatore Bosco (1927-2011) was born in Lawrence, MA. He received his BA in Physical Education, and later his MS (University of Illinois) and PhD (University of Massachusetts) in Exercise Physiology. In 1971, he arrived at Sacramento State, where he taught in the College of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. He earned many awards and published often, including the book, "Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Education, Fitness, and Sports." He retired a faculty emeritus in 1991.
