    Scope and Contents

    Contains materials from Vicki Hall's personal life and her teaching career. There are also student papers from the Women's Studies classes she has taught.
    This collection contains documents, a journal, letters, books, newspapers, photographs, artifacts, and audiovisual materials relating to the personal and professional life of Vicki Hall.     Biographical / Historical

    In 1971, Vicki Hall received a Master's in Fine Art from the University of California Los Angeles. Since 1972, she has been teaching in the Women's Studies Department at California State University. During her career, Hall has worked with prominent artists, including Judy Chicago. Hall is one of the early contributors to the Feminist Performance Movement, she helped develop Sacramento State's first Feminist Theater classes, and has been teaching Women in Art for more than thirty years. Throughout her career at Sacramento State University, she has taught classes that center on women, including Women in Art, Feminism and the Spirit, Mother/Woman/Person, and Violence against Women. Through these courses, Professor Hall helped to inspire generations of CSUS students to recognize the significant roles women play in society.

    The Vicki Hall papers were donated/transferred to the Donald & Beverly Gerth Special Collections & University Archives in April of 2014. Additions were donated in August 2014, May 2017, and August 2022.
