Description
The digital portion of this collection consists of photographs, journals and letters which are collected when Dr. Peters engaged in mission work from 1928 to 1941 in Korea. The physical portion of this collection consists of photograph postcards from Japan and Korea, audio tapes, and slides.
Background
Dr. Victor Wellington Peters was born September 29, 1902 in Kansas City, Missouri. Attended UCLA and USC--B.A., 1924; Princeton Seminary, 1924-1928. Missionary to Korea, August 29,1928-January 1941. Married Feb 12, 1938 Hahn Heung Bok in Kimhwa church, Korea. Four children, 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. Accomplished speaker, preacher, writer, artist, teacher who continues to minister to and inspire the Korean people. From 1941-present, Dr. Peters pastored various churches in Los Angeles, CA; taught in Azusa Pacific University; and mentored Korean doctoral students at Fuller Theological Seminary.
