Series 1: Course and project materials 1955-2011

Scope and Contents

This series contains materials related to research topics that Clyde Woods used for his long-term projects and for teaching courses at UC Santa Barbara, the University of Maryland, and at Pennsylvania State University. Topics cover urban planning and social policies, education and prison systems, Black culture and music, slavery and Southern culture, and rebuilding efforts in post-Katrina New Orealns and post-earthquake Haiti.

Materials may include photocopied and web printed reference materials, newspaper clippings conference materials, handwritten notes and outlines, article and essay drafts, course materials and lecture notes, and correspondence.
