Record Series 560 contains the administrative files of the Social Sciences Provost at UCLA's College of Letters and Science. Files regard such topics as faculty and Chair appointments and recruitment; departmental budget; funding of faculty, endowed chair positions and fellowships; establishment of endowed chairs and faculty positions; curriculum and academic master plans; departmental programs; enrollment; departmental priorities; space and facilities needs, allocation, use, and problems; policies regarding promotion and tenure, personnel action, student/faculty disputes; faculty workload; support of faculty; ROTC on the UCLA campus; affirmative action; grants and other sources of funding; student and faculty exchange programs; and documentation of committees including Advisory, Executive, and Search Committees. Materials include memos; correspondence; evaluative, annual, and other reports; report review comments; proposals; meeting agendas, notes, and minutes; budget requests; and statistics.
