Abstract:
Scrapbook created by USC alumna Mary Martin that documents her years at USC, her marriage to fellow USC alumnus Bernard Gipson, and their life after marriage. The scrapbook documents Mary's life as a student at USC. Mary's twin sister Myra also attended USC and she also features in the scrapbook. Mary Martin and her twin sister Myra were pharmaceutical majors at USC in the mid-1920s. Mary was the President of the Lambda Kappa Sigma sorority. Her future husband, Bernard Gipson, was an electical engineering major at USC, a member of the Sigma Phi Delta fraternity, and of the USC band. After Mary and Bernard graduated, they were married on July 1, 1929. Bernard went to work for Southern California Edison. The scrapbook ends on April 22, 1941, when Bernard died from a sudden illness.

The scrapbook documents Mary's life as a student at USC. Mary's twin sister Myra also attended USC and she also features in the scrapbook. The scrabpook includes numberous clippings, articles, cards, playbills, sports items and other ephemera asso ciated with undergraduate student life. It also contains Bernard and Mary's marriage certificate, birth announcements, and ephemera from Bernard's travels.
