Benjamin Marcus Priteca was born in Scotland on December 23, 1889. He received his secondary and university education in Scotland
before relocating to Seattle, Washington in the early 1900s. From 1909 to 1911, Priteca was a draftsman for architect E. W.
Houghton in Seattle, before opening his own practice. Priteca was retained as the architect for all Pantages Theatres designed
between 1910 and 1929, and is well known for the numerous movie theaters he designed over his career. Primarily based in Seattle,
Washington Priteca relocated his firm to Los Angeles from 1922 to 1929. Priteca died on October 1, 1971.
