Scope and content:: This collection is comprised of one bound volume (296 pages) of handwritten club meeting minutes dating from March 6, 1964, to September 7, 1979. Minutes concern club activities, officer elections, treasurer's reports and correspondence.
Biographical / historical:: The State of California Grandmothers Club formed in 1949 to provide low-cost housing for grandmothers over the age of 55, in addition to serving as a social organization for its members. Several local chapters formed in the following years, including the Citrus Heights Grandmothers Club, which formed in 1953. The club hosted card parties and regular potlucks with entertainment by local speakers and performers through the 1970s.
