Description
The collection consists of the business records of the Southern Pacific Employees Hospital Association (SPEHA) and of Southern Pacific Memorial Hospitals, Incorporated (SPMHI) from 1945 to 1987. They include by-laws, resolutions, materials about their respective Boards of Directors, and minutes and correspondence. While much of the collection is contained in eleven leather-bound ledger volumes arranged in chronological order, a small portion of the collection is stored in file folders in a document box (several of the items contained therein were previously stored in vinyl binders and are now stored in acid-free folders). Most of the records are minutes and correspondence, and they reflect the regular meetings and decision making of the Boards of Directors of both SPEHA and SPMHI, and there is also a smaller group minutes and correspondence of the Board of Managers of the Southern Pacific Hospital Department.
