Abstract: Forty-six oral history cassette tapes (converted to CD) and miscellaneous items donated by the interviewees — including photos,
slides and a narrative report from the camp director of the Granada Relocation Camp in Amache, Colorado, a Japanese-American
internment camp during W.W. II — aid in documenting the lives and experiences of individuals in different ethnic communities
of the northern San Francisco Bay Area. These interviews contain unique and valuable information about the North Bay's history
that exists only in memories and otherwise would be lost. Most of these interviews took place in the mid- to late 1970s.
The majority of tapes are not transcribed.
Added to the North Bay Ethnic Archive in 2016 were copies of oral histories produced by the Sonoma County Japanese American
Citizens League, who gave the SSU Library permission to add them to our Special Collections.
