    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    A collection of zines acquired from the Orange County Zine Fest.
    Zines (short for "magazine" or "fanzine") are self-published, small-circulation booklets, pamphlets or flyers created to advance the views of the creator. Popular subjects include politics, music scenes, race and culture, fan clubs, social justice, gender and sexuality, counter-culture, art and philosophy.

    Separation Note

    In November 2021, zines created during events hosted by UCI or as part of classes at UCI were separated from this collection to create AS-219 University of California, Irvine, collection of zines.
