    Abstract: Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss is a professor emeritus who taught astronomy and is also an active philatelist. This collection consists of postal material issued in Vatican City, including stamps, aerogrammes, and postcards.

    Biographical / Historical

    Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss was born in 1942 in Boston. He received an A.B. degree from Harvard University in 1962, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. Chambliss is professor emeritus of astronomy at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Chambliss is also an active philatelist and over the years has formed a large holding of stamps and postal material of the Vatican City State.

    Arrangement

    Items are arranged into two different series separated by item type: Postage Stamps and Postal Stationary. Postal Stationary is further broken into two subseries: Aerogrammes and Postcards.

    This collection consists of postal material issued in Vatican City, including stamps, aerogrammes, and postcards.
