Description
Erica Reinisch lived in Shanghai during
the 1930s and 1940s. The collection consists of photographs depicting the Japanese bombing
of Shanghai in 1937, Shanghai foreign residents ration coupons from 1949, an alien resident
certificate from1949, Chinese sketches by the artist Fei Pai Yee, watercolor and ink
drawings by artist Friedrich Schiff, and a publication discussing the political climate in
Shanghai in 1937.
