Background

Scope and content:

The bulk of the records are clippings scrapbooks created by the Merchants Association, documenting association activities, as well as the business and economic environment in San Jose and Santa Clara County from the 1920s to the early 1960s. Two of the scrapbooks focus on publicity materials for Santa Clara County from the 1930s and 1940s. In addition, there are two minute books (1909-1912, 1941-1944), and a nearly complete run of the association's bulletin from 1923-1937.

The records are part of the original collection of the San Jose Historical Museum.
