Biographical / historical:

President Clark Kerr initiated this series of subject oriented reports to present to the Regents at their meetings in order to acquaint them with aspects of the wide variety of programs administered by the University of California. The name comes from the fact that the regular report of the president to the regents was normally referred to as the A Report.
