Series 11. Media

Scope and content:

This series contains audio and mving image recordings in various media including audiocassette, reel-to-reel, videocassette, film, compact disc, an phonograph disc. The majority of the audiocassettes were recorded at readings given by Ginsberg from the 1950s and 60s. This series also contains the master reels of commercial recordings that were produced and released by various publishers.

Access and use

Restrictions:

Access to original recordings is restricted. Much of the media in Ginsberg's collection has been digitally transferred and is available for streaming from Searchworks: https://searchworks.stanford.edu/view/4084385

Parent restrictions:

Collection is open for research; materials must be requested at least 36 hours in advance of intended use.

Accessions received in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, and 2018 totaling some 161.5 linear feet have not yet been processed. Digital files are closed until processed.
