This series contains correspondence, financial records, and reports documenting the financial grants distributed by the committee.

Biographical / historical:

Ginsberg founded the Committee on Poetry, a non-profit organization designed to financially assist poets complete small projects in and for the community at large. The majority of the money for these grants came from Ginsberg's income from his own readings. Allen Ginsberg was the President and Peter Orlovsky the Treasurer of the committee.

Parent restrictions:

Collection is open for research; materials must be requested at least 36 hours in advance of intended use.

Accessions received in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, and 2018 totaling some 161.5 linear feet have not yet been processed. Digital files are closed until processed.
