This series contains the typed and handwritten manuscript poems, prose, books, notes, and essays written by Ginsberg between the 1930's through 1994.

Ginsberg often worked out his poems in longhand in his journals and then had his staff transcribe the poems on a typewriter or computer. He would then correct in his own hand the typed or printed version, adding notes about appropriate line breaks, punctuation, etc. This series documents this process.

Collection is open for research; materials must be requested at least 36 hours in advance of intended use.
Accessions received in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, and 2018 totaling some 161.5 linear feet have not yet been processed. Digital files are closed until processed.
