Scope and content:

These files document Wilson's work for hire. Included are correspondence, layouts, and product samples for jobs ranging from posters and book design to cards and brochures. Files are generally arranged alphabetically by client but occasionally are filed by project name, for example, "Star Wars: Defense or Death Star?" In the case of certain clients, namely publishers, files are then further sub-divided by individual project. For example all job files regarding work done for the University of California Press are filed under California rather than the individual publication titles. This series can prove especially useful to researchers trying to determine Wilson's relationship to various individuals. He had both professional and personal relationships with numerous individuals and looking at both his professional and personal correspondence together helps to clarify many of these relationships.
