Before acquisition by the Clark, this letter was apparently laid in a bound manuscript of Richard LeGallienne's "On some recent editions of Oscar Wilde" (Clark call number MS.2000.011) as it is described in bookseller information laid into that volume, but was acquired separately. Another letter from Frank Harris to Viereck was also originally included with the bound manuscript, and was also purchased separately by the Clark (currently in msWilde Box 30/33). All three of these items were originally brought together by collector Francis Kettaneh, and were sold together by Lew David Feldman (House of El Dieff; item 25 in his 40th anniversary catalog. These items are all accompanied by typescript transcriptions written in the same italic font. This letter was purchased from Eric Chaim Kline in 2000 (accession MS.2000.010), but the acquisition dates of the Harris letter and LeGallienne manuscript are unknown.
