Scope and content:

Series comprises notes, printed material, and photographs used as research, primarily for works offered to the gallery and for exhibits presented at the gallery. The basic research files are organized alphabetically by subject. Exhibits are arranged chronologically, with a separate file of photographs of art works in the exhibits. Offers are arranged by national school or medium or artist, and consist mostly of photographs with occasionally present notes, correspondence, and printed and illustrated matter. Items pulled for cold storage are shelved in Box 239A. This series also includes the printed brochures of works carried by the gallery. These are arranged by artist name, and generally represent works sold.
