Scope and content:

This series contains the files maintained by Margulies while producing the miniseries Out on a Limb. These files included correspondence, call sheets, schedules, files on the locations in which the program was filmed, and copies of various versions of the script.

Biographical / historical:

Out on a Limb starred Shirley MacLaine as herself. The miniseries was based on MacLaine's best-selling book by the same name, in which MacLaine discussed her love affairs and the effect her New Age spiritual awakening had on her beliefs and her life. The Sam Margulies Company produced the miniseries for ABC, and it first aired in 1987. Margulies received a producer's credit.
