Arrangement:

In the Archivo General de la Nación this ramo is in two series. Through the years some of the volumes apparently were interchanged accidentally. The arrangement followed here corresponds to the arrangement of the volumes in the archive in the summer of 1952, when it was checked by a representative of the library. It does not correspond to the order in which they were found by Dr. Bolton at the time he compiled his Guide to the Mexican archives nor does it coincide exactly with the arrangement at the time the index was made. Most of the index refers to volumes currently in Series I, although a few of the volumes at the beginning are now in Series II.
