Collection contains snapshot and commercial photographic prints taken in San Francisco during and after the disaster of 1906. The views show fires burning, earthquake and fire damage, cityscapes, refugees and refugee camps. Among the locations and buildings pictured are Nob Hill, Market St., City Hall, Majestic Theatre, South of Market District, Financial District, and Wholesale District. Also included are views of Oakland. Photographers are unidentified. The LeConte collection includes views not related to the 1906 disaster which have not been described in the present finding aid. These images show such locations as Chatanooga, Tennessee; University of South Carolina; San Francisco's Cliff House, Sutro Baths and Seal Beach area; Monterey; and Oakland.
