Background

Scope and content:

Lyon-Martin House digital documentation includes one hard drive with images, video, and 3D data related to the Lyon-Martin House. The Lyon-Martin House is a historic site recognized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. It is the former home of Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin, located at 651 Duncan Street in San Francisco, CA. Lyon and Martin were lesbian pioneers who were active in a number of LGBTQ rights organizations and women’s organizations. They were marriage equality activists and co-founders of the Daughters of Bilitis, the first lesbian rights organization in the United States. The digital documentation serves as an interactive digital record of the house. It was created by CyArk, a nonprofit organization specializing in this kind of digital preservation of historic sites.
