Scope and content:

This series contains programs, flyers, brochures, articles, bibliographies, and ephemera regarding Filipino American events, organizations, musicians, film, theatre, literature, and exhibits. This includes material related to: Filipino American Library, Filipino American National Historical Society, Larry Itliong Day, Kababayan, Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture, Filipino-American Democratic Caucus, Philippine-American Los Angeles Democrats (PALAD), the UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association, Katipunan ng mga Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP), martial law, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), "The Debut" a film directed and co-written by Filipino American filmmaker Gene Cajayon, a play adaptation of "Dogeaters", and others. Other Asian American and Pacific Islanders events and organizations represented in this series include material related to the Manzanar Pilgrimage, Little Tokyo Historical Society, the Chinese American Museum, E Hula Mau, Visual Communications, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, UCLA Asian American Studies Center, Ho'olaule'a, and East West Players; as well as a few brochures and flyers related to libraries and archives such as Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association, REFORMA, Librarians of Color, Archives Bazaar, Long Beach Historical Society, and others. This series is organized alphabetically by event, organization, or subject.
