The Redondo Daily Breeze, first known as the Breeze, started in 1894 in Redondo Beach, CA as a weekly publication. It covered the news of Redondo Beach which then had a population of 500. By the early 1900s, the Daily Breeze began covering news of neighboring cities Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. With a growth in circulation and coverage, the paper became a daily publication in 1922.
In 1930, the paper was renamed the South Bay Daily Breeze to be more inclusive of news from the surrounding cities. The paper gradually transitioned from covering news of the beach cities to a more regional paper with a circulation of more than a dozen cities in south Los Angeles County.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Panorama tabloid supplement to the Daily Breeze started in 1967 and was published annually in April. The supplement was started to capture the history of the Palos Verdes Peninsula through essays and photographs. At this time, the Peninsula was one of the fastest growing areas in the South Bay area and was also one of the few remaining undeveloped areas in metropolitan Los Angeles. The issues document the unique rural atmosphere of the Peninsula during one of its largest development periods.
In 1983, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Panorama was renamed the Peninsula Panorama (not to be confused with the sports publication, Palos Verdes Peninsula Panorama).
The South Bay Panorama started in 1997 and was published in the Fall of each year.
