Carole Morton (1945-2020) was a lesbian psychotherapist, activist and writer. Among her many involvements, Morton founded Dykes and Tykes, a lesbian mothers advocacy and community building organization based in New York in the 1970’s. She was also the producer of "Women Loving", a monthly lesbian feminist television series as well as the founder of the Rossmoor Lesbian Social Club. The collection contains ephemera; organizational records; articles; correspondence and writings related to these involvements. Also included are subject files; periodicals, newsletters; newspaper clippings; and ephemera related to lesbian, feminist, lesbian feminist and gay liberation politics and organizing throughout the 1970's-1980's. Some publications and topics include Lesbian Connection; the Jeanne Jullion custody battle; Gay Flames Pamphlets; the Daughters of Bilitis New Jersey chapter; Jill Johnston; lesbian health care; and Lesbian Tide. Correspondence, autobiographical writings, and an obituary further illuminate Morton's personal life and community involvements.
