Series 1: Correspondence., 1970-1981.
- Scope and content:
-
This series contains ingoing and outgoing correspondence primarily from Diana Press and various women’s and LGBT publications and organizations. Materials span the years 1970-1981 and take the form of letters, catalogs, fliers, periodicals, and other printed distribution materials. Included in the series are items related to publishing, distribution, and advertising, as well as general correspondence from community members. Of note are the numerous letters of support following the vandalism which took place in October of 1977, including letters from Adrienne Rich and Audre Lorde.
- Arrangement:
-
Preliminary alphabetic arrangement was completed prior to the collection’s arrival at UCLA. The original filing system used by Diana Press appears to have separated correspondence into categories including Publishing, General, Current Events, and Past Events. For processing notes from the Mazer Archives see "Diana Press Donation to Mazer Archives" in Box 16, Folder 12.
