Biographical / historical:

Joaquin D. Galvan, retired, worked for UC Davis for 30 years as a Retention Coordinator at the Student Academic Success Center from 1981-2011. He was integral to the UC Davis Special Transitional Enrichment Program (STEP), and he was an early supporter of D-Q University and Chicano Studies. He was also active in many local community organizations and activities outside of UC Davis.

Joaquin D. Galvan's initial donation was made in 2001. An additional gift was made in 2023.
