Biographical / historical:

The Music Center of Los Angeles County opened its newest venue, the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall (WDCH) in October 2003, expanding the existing Music Center campus to 11 acres. The Hall is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Located on a historic downtown Los Angeles site, Walt Disney Concert Hall is situated on Bunker Hill at the intersection of First Street and Grand Avenue, adjacent to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. A large portion of the site is devoted to an urban public park that is accessible not only from the Hall, but from the adjacent streets. The primary entry plaza, located at the corner of First and Grand, connects the facility to the existing Music Center Plaza, and a secondary entry plaza, located at the corner of 2nd and Grand, provides primary access to the gardens.
