Audio recordings are restricted and require advance notice for access. Includes transcription discs, commercially released 78 rpm and 45 rpm records, and reel-to-reel tapes. The bulk of the transcription discs represent television and radio broadcasts of The Jimmy Durante Show . Also represented are Durante-hosted programs such as All Star Revue, Colgate Comedy Hour, The Jimmy Durante Show with Alan Young, and The Jimmy Durante Show with Don Ameche; and Durantes guest appearances on programs including the Bob Hope Buick Show, the Rudy Vallee Fleischmann Hour, Kraft Music Hall with Al Jolson, Texaco Star Theatre, and Philco Radio Time with Bing Crosby. The series also comprises multiple copies of Durantes commercially released recordings, including 45 rpm recordings of songs such as "A-razz-a-ma-tazz," The Pussy Cat Song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Im the Guy Who Found the Lost Chord, Chidibee-Ch-Ch, and others. The majority of reel-to-reel tapes document Durantes appearances on the Lennon Sisters Hour A small amount of tapes include Durante guest appearances on programs such as The Andy Williams Show, Hollywood Palace, The Mike Douglas Show, The Sonny and Cher Show, the 1970 and 1971 Emmy Awards. Other projects in which Durante may or may not have been involved include recordings annotated with Hubert Humphrey or HHH on the boxes. There are a small number of commercially released 78 rpm discs of songs by other popular recording artists. Records are housed in their original LP albums. Many of these albums have titles and lists of contents indicated on the front or inside cover, however, most of the actual contents of the albums do not reflect these annotations. There is no specific arrangement to the series.
