Scope and content:

Courtroom sketches made by Shigemitsu during the proceedings of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East that took place following World War II. Shigemitsu was on trial and made these sketches, some of which are captioned, during the course of the proceedings.

Biographical / historical:

Japanese foreign minister, 1943-1944, 1954-1956; minister of Greater East Asia, 1944-1945.
