Scope and content:

The series includes correspondence, plans, drawings, invoices, and other materials relating to projects that John Lyle worked on or projects with which he was involved. The series also includes portfolios with drawings and plans from projects early in Lyle's career.

One of the projects in the series is a proposed "Universal Tivoli" in Universal City. This appears to be a reference to Tivoli Gardens in Denmark.

The "Assorted and Unidentified Projects" folder includes materials, photos, drawings, correspondence and plans for various projects, including unidentified projects. Projects mentioned in the materials include the "Del Norte County Landfill Master Plan," the Orange County Sanitation Districts Ecopark, and a Joshua City planned community near Palm Springs.

There is additional information about the large project plans in the "Slides and Files Information" folder in Series 7: Media, Subseries 7.1.

The design scroll file contains a project design that Lyle made in the form of an ancient scroll. The design appears to be for a building but the location of the building is unclear. The scroll also includes a note from Lyle addressed to "Duke."

The series is arranged alphabetically by folder title in the finding aid but does not reflect physical arrangement.

Physical description:

One of the portfolios with plans from early in Lyle's career is crumbling and is in a very fragile state.
