Elizabeth Peters Robinson (September 16, 1942 - ) was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Lebanese-American parents. Moving with her family to East Texas and later to California, she eventually attended UC Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminology. While a Berkeley, Peters-Robinson became interested in radical approaches to criminology, which led her to work as a social worker with the Alameda County Probation Office, where she and Cedric met. They married in 1967 and spent time studying and working throughout the U.S. and abroad, during which time Elizabeth earned a Master's degree in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan, before settling in Santa Barbara, California in the late 1970s.
Elizabeth joined Cedric Robinson and Corey Dubin on KCSB's Third World News Review (TWNR) in 1980-81, reporting on the Middle East as well as international women's movements for over 30 years, eventually becoming the program producer, station manager, and the Associate Director for Media at KCSB-FM Radio. In addition to her reporting with TWNR, Peters-Robinson also developed and produced KCSB's No Alibis program - an idependent news outlet that provided commentary from community-based perspectives on local, national, and international politics, from the late 1990s until 2024 - preceded by Viewpoints, Sister Says, Barrel of a Pen, and Blues Never Lie.
Througout her time as a community media producer and journalist, Elizabeth has also been an educator and activist, supporting the organization of upcoming community broadcasting and activist movements. She worked as the Associated Students Associate Director for Media and as an advisor to students at KCSB, served as the North American Vice-President amd Treasurer for the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) from 2001-2005 and 2005-2011 respectively, and participated in international meetings such as the UN Commission on the Status of Women, the World Social Forum, the World Summit on the Information Society, and the Americas Social Forum.
