Scrapbook comprises blank leaves and disbound pages of Merridew's Catalogue of engraved portraits of nobility, gentry, Clergymen,
and others, born, resident in, or connected with the county of Warwick, published in 1848, along with laid-in collected examples
of many of the portraits enumerated. The catalogue pages have been used as a checklist and inventory by the unidentified collector.
Some portraits date from the late 19th century, post-dating Merridew's catalog. Portrait subjects range from nobility and
prominent historical figures to authors and other noteworthy individuals. Joseph Addison and William Shakepeare have numerous
portraits present, as do several Earls of Bristol, William Lord Craven, Dukes of Suffolk, Earls and Countesses of Warwick,
Earls of Essex, and Sir Christopher Wren, among others.
