Abstract:

Chiefly snapshot photographs taken by an unidentified young American couple during their vacation in Mexico. Locations and subjects depicted include Mexico City (Cathedral, Basílica de Guadalupe, wedding, bullfight, city view, Obregón monument), Xochimilco (canals, market, dwellings), Toluca (market), Cuernavaca (Diego Rivera mural), Cholua (city view), Acolman (monastery), Teotihuacán (Pyramid of the Sun), Rancho el Blanco (fiesta), Taxco (city view, Cathedral, hotel), Acapulco (hotel), Monterrey (street vendor), Vanegas (children), and homes on an unidentified freight train. Also includes an image of the couple prior to their departure at a train station in St. Louis, Missouri and another image of them in Laredo, Texas before entering Mexico. The couple is depicted in a few photographs.
