SomArts, an arts organization and cultural center located in the South of Market area of San Francisco, supported the Mural
Resource Center in its mission to promote the planning, funding, and creation of murals throughout San Francisco, including
obtaining necessary permitting and community and design approval. Projects focused on creating murals in neighborhoods housing
and serving low to moderate income groups and promoting cultural diversity among mural artists and in the imagery depicted
in the murals.
