Sam Ruvkun (August 2, 1919, Stockton, California - June 26, 2004, Piedmont, California) graduated from U.C. Berkeley with
a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1941. That same year, he joined Kaiser Engineers and worked, at various times, in Oakland,
the Richmond Shipyards and Latin America. In 1944 he joined the Navy and served as a lieutenant and Naval Seabee in Okinawa,
Japan. After he retired in 1980, he co-edited "Together We Build," a history of Kaiser Engineers.
