The material focuses on Central American countries Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, with the bulk of the material on Guatemala.
Primarily covers migration, immigration, United States policies in Central America, human rights, and democracy. Also includes
writings and working files for the book "Of Centaurs and Doves: Guatemala's Peace Process" and a small amount of teaching
and professional files. A portion of the collection is in Spanish or shorthand.

Susanne Jonas was a lecturer in Latin American and Latino Studies at Merrill College, University of California, Santa Cruz.
Jonas attended Radcliffe College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Jonas received a doctorate in political science
from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974. She is an expert on Central American politics, with particular expertise
in Guatemala and Nicaragua.
