Samuel W. Fansher was born in Iowa approximately 1865; member of the 1898-1899 expedition aboard schooner Penelope to Kotzebue Sound during Alaska gold rush; long time resident of Pasadena; captain of Pasadena Fire Department; died August 16, 1939.
