Abstract:
Views documenting the appearance of the yard shop buildings at their construction in 1938-39 and in 1992. The shop was designed
as a maintenance site for electric railway cars intended to run across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, but served the
East Bay's Key System rail lines instead. After 1960, the structure was used as the Bay Bridge paint shop. It has been preserved
as an example of 1930's industrial architecture.
