Abstract:
Album contains 96 uniform-sized photos. 8 x 6cm. Inserted four to a page in the pre-cut windows on both sides of 12 album
leaves. No captions. Black oblong tied album. 25 x 17cm. Photos of animals, particularly domesticated animals. There are 8
photos of camels carrying good-sized loads or pulling carts; another dozen are of Indian cattle, often working, and a few
others feature sheep. Other photos show a horse, donkey, monkeys, vultures, and a caged tiger. There are approximately 15
photos featuring soldiers, including one of an unidentified tent city and another of 10 military bagpipers in a circle. Most
of the other photos are of local residents or buildings. Locale is likely to be somewhere in Pakistan, partly because the
settings and partly because of one photo of a monument or grave marker erected to the memory of Ellen Mary Ellis who was "foully
murdered" at Kohat on April 14, 1923.
