Stanley Noyes (1924-2014) was a writer, a poet, an educator, and an administrator of arts programs in New Mexico. He attended
the University of California, Berkeley and taught at colleges and universities in New Mexico. Among his prose works were Los
Commanches: The Horse People, 1751-1845. Noyes published six volumes of poetry. He was married to Nancy (Black) Noyes for
65 years and the couple had three children.
