The leather-bound volume contains 96 gelatin silver prints which document the work and home life of the album's creator between
1908 and 1918. The prints feature the nurses and doctors at the French Hospital on Geary Street at work and in playful poses.
Other scenes from San Francisco include the Great White Fleet in 1908, Ocean Beach, and Golden Gate Park. The album also includes
images of daily life such as children dressed up, young people at a social outing, and dogs at the beach. The red leather
cover is stenciled with four flowers and the word "Photos" is faintly etched into the upper right-hand corner.

The creator of the album was possibly a student at the French Hospital's School for Nursing who settled down and started a
family soon after her graduation from the program. The album seems to follow this narrative, as it begins with pictures of
the French Hospital and concludes with pictures of children, dogs, and social outings.
