Abstract:
Includes drawings in pencil and watercolor depicting scenery of various locations throughout the Western United States and
Canada, including prairie lands, Nevada plains, Monterey Bay, Rocky Mountains, and several locations in British Columbia (Victoria,
Trail, Rossland, Arrow Lakes, Kootenay Mine). Some drawings executed while Waterlow traveled via the Southern Pacific and
Central Pacific railroads. Also includes a view of the artist's garden in Santa Barbara, Calif., in addition to such locations
as the Gut of Canso and Halifax (Nova Scotia), Hudson River, St. Lawrence River, St. Helena and the South Atlantic, Boulogne
(France), Tenrife (Canary Islands), Biarritz, Oban (Scotland), Cornwall (England), Isle of Skye, and the Atlas Mountains (Algeria).
