Abstract:
One printed broadside issued for the State by Border State Lodge, No. 3, of the City of New York in New York on January 4,
1864. The broadside contains a resolution in the House of Representatives, introduced on December 14, 1863 by Hon. Aaron Harding
of Kentucky and supported by the New York representatives of the United States Equitist League [U. S. E. L.], which reads
as follows: "That the Union has not been dissolved, and that whenever the Rebellion in any of the Seceded States shall be
put down and subdued, either by force of the Federal army, or by the voluntary submission of the people of such Sate to the
authority of the Constitution, then such State will thereby be restored to all the rights and privileges as a State of the
Union, under the Constitution of such State and the Constitution of the United States, including the right to regulate, order,
and control its own domestic institutions according to the Constitution and laws of such State, free from all Congressional
or Executive control and dictation".
