The Disabled Children's Computer Group (DCCG) was founded in Berkeley, Calif. in 1983 by a group of parents, led by Jacquelyn
Brand, with professionals and software developers to provide technology support for children and adults with disabilties.
In 1994, DCCG changed its name to the Center for Accessible Technology. Brand is also known for her role in founding the National
Special Education Alliance Foundation in 1989, which became the Foundation for Technology Access in 1994, operating under
the name: Alliance for Technology Access (ATA).
