Historical Summary
The Action Research Liaison Office (ARLO) was an experimental extra-departmental program
established by the ASSU in 1973 and began operation in 1974. Designed to advanced student
research by matching students with social action groups, small companies, and faculty, the
program helped students study and address community issues. This research would then be used
by these community groups in their project planning. In 1986, ARLO was dismantled due to the
restructuring of the Innovative Academic Courses office.
