Folder 01 –Philippine Raids

Physical Description: This folder contains seven documents about the Philippine Island raids April 15-17, 1942 by Brig. Gen. Ralph Royce, use of North American B-25 bombers and B-17 Flying Fortress, and British and American commentary.
 

Folder 02 – Doolittle Raid

Physical Description: This folder contains nine documents about the raid by James Doolittle on Tokyo in 1942 - primarily May and June - and North American Aviation.

Physical Description: This folder contains thirty three documents including stories about the following war production subjects: quotas, supplies, commendations, manufacture and delivery, Special Committee reports, Lockheed, North American, War Labor Board, and wage discussions.
 

Folder 04 – Miscellaneous Stories

Physical Description: This folder contains eleven documents including a variety of stories about war life in the U. S. and mentions of “junk dealers,” development of airports, Flying Tigers, Mitchell bombers, submarines, Japanese attack on Dutch Harbor (Alaska), and correspondence between women and soldiers.

Physical Description: This folder contains twenty two documents with information on the internal operations of various aircraft companies, primarily regarding North American,but also including, Lockheed, Vultee, and Boeing.
 

Folder 06- Public Relations and Security

Physical Description: This folder contains seventeen documents including news bulletins and announcements regarding security, such as violence breaking out at a “Bundles for Bluejackets” party hosted by actresses Constance Bennett and Kay Francis, investigations, and Secretary of War Stimson announcing the reorganization of the Army’s PR set up.

Physical Description: This folder contains nineteen documents regarding reports of accidents and crashes, including car, train, and aircraft, training base accidents, noncombat and combat related.
